Rising Sun is defined by the diversity of natural instinct’s force and by the essence of rythm, the electricity capable of moving bodies and spaces. The core element of the company’s inspiration is music, however this time it’s more emphatic than ever before.
The harmony of music and dance makes light of our everyday drama as well. They were created together, long ago, in ancient times. Later, their paths separated, but a sense of reliance remained in both. There are many common elements in their editing that keep them together: rythm, pace, parallels, counterpoints and voices. The show is summarized by a haunting cavalcade of relations that are messy, exciting and almost too complicated yet mathematically exact. The clarity of the company’s sensual moveset, its unique and unmistakeable nature brings to life a rich and densely moving world onstage. Rising Sun is dynamic, although it is built on meditative movements, guiding the audience into inner landscapes by the unapologetic use of silence as music. The energetic momentum of GDC is now heightened even more by the inclusion of live music. The artistic director József Hámor / Gangaray Experimental Music’s work is now supported by the Ataru percussionist band.
